Killing Undead
Killing Undead
So, a question. I know that there are rules about killing a pet or mount of a player...but I was wondering, do those rules also apply to an undead servant? One of my characters (actually most of them) do not care for undead, and I was walking down the road and noticed a resurrected knight. I didn't see anyone around, so I assumed that it had been abandoned. However, I did not know if it was permissible to kill the thing, or if that would be in violation of some policy? If anyone can shed light on this, I would appreciate it.

There was something said a little while a go that stated if it was something rare that you should not... OR if the minion had some rare things on him as armor or a weapon then you should overlook it... Incase the player is Linkdead or whatnot...

I tend to always kill them, because it is in my RP to do so.
However, I do not go out looking for undead to kill. If I happen to see one left in a random place that I pass, I usually wait for awhile, RP with it and then ask OOCly (I admit it, I use the WHO list and see who would be most likely to have raised the undead) if they mind overmuch me killing it.
The answer is usually no.
My opinion is (maybe controversially) if there are rare items and such like on it, and it means that much to the player, they should not be left where anyone can find it. That being said, when I kill undead I do not take the items from it. I leave them on the ground.
I think officially, you are allowed to kill the undead creatures, providing it is RPed. And there is that time-honoured bylaw of thinking how you might react if someone killed your nifty little undead pet.
I hope something there made sense.

If you have knowledge, let others light their candles with it.
