[OOC Event] Joining the Player Council

Post by Dalvyn » Sat Jun 02, 2007 12:46 pm

The Player Council is composed of all the people who can hear questions asked with the "ask" command and answer them.

If you want to help new players and answer their questions, and if you have at least 500 accumulated kismet, feel free to come online at this time.

We'll gather all those who are interested in joining, we'll explain how the ask/answer thing works, how to answer, and answer all your questions.

Note that, if you cannot make it, that's fine: there will be other events like those. Also, if you meet the minimal kismet requirement and want to be part of the Player Council, you will be added to it.

Three questions:
Does one have to attend one of these events to join?

If one was previously approved but never added to the council, can one still be added?

Does one have to be logged on to be added to the council?

Thanks

That would be better, yes, since a lot of important information will be given during those "events".

Yes. Attending one of those "events" is a good way to make sure that you aren't forgotten.
Does one have to be logged on to be added to the council?
Yes because, as pointed out above, we want to make sure that you know how to answer people, what to say and what not to say, so we prefer not to add people without first talking to them.

I will try and hold another similar event in the following weeks. Stay tuned for more info!

Tomorrow, at this time, we'll be holding another event where you can join the Player Council if you want.

Make sure that you have at least 500 accumulated kismet, and that you have read the above posts.

Are we to state our interest via the ask channel at named time?
Weit in der Champagne im Mittsommergrün,
dort, wo zwischen Grabkreuzen Mohnblumen blühn,
da flüstern die Gräser und wiegen sich leicht
im Wind, der sanft über das Gräberfeld streicht.

Most likely, yes. I'll send a mud-wide message.

I would love to

I honestly would love to be on the player council. I have been on FK for several years, and I really respect the help that the player council offers. But, looking at the time for today, I will be on my way to Pheonix, and sadly will not be able to make it.

I've not been on Fk as long as some others, but I'd also like to join the council. I think I've smacked enuff bandits around to say I'm a reliable help. Though I missed the event. I just recently was able to log into the forums, and hadn't bothered to check any posts. If it can be done again, it'd be great :D

The events that Garl hosts are important. While we welcome anyone to join the council (that meest the minimum requirements), Garl outlines some specific guidelines in those onlise sessions. I am sure he, or another imm, will hold another session in the not-too-distant future.
