Probably a silly idea but..I think there should be a new option added to the bank to take out a loan...type..thing.
What does every one else think?
Loan from the bank

I think it might be neat for banks to facilitate player-to-player loans rather than giving loans themselves-- for example, when a PC feels they're set enough that they'd be able to fund a good cause, they add their name to a list of available lenders, and PCs who look at the list can seek them out and make their case.
Dear Enemy: May the Lord hate you and all your kind, may you be turned orange in hue, and may your head fall off at an awkward moment.
Actually I like that idea of both, really.
Problem with banks would be what if the PC doesnt pay it back? How do you hire mob leg breakers?
but as for the other, which seems like a lot less work for everyone involved, I know Caelyvar would support a loan system, at any given time she has money that she doesnt know what to do with. Its never a lot, but it might be better served going to a young spell caster who will earn it back one day than just sitting in the bank
Unless the bank earned compound interest, then I would be all about keeping the money in the bank

I like the idea, I'd considered doing this as a PC before but it seemed to me that the biggest risk would be people taking a loan and then just not logging on for months at a time. If someone takes a loan out and then doesn't repay it on time, I would say it should be considered a crime in the city from which they take the loan, and they should get a significant amount of IC jailtime.
You could also have a system where PCs could access a list of people who haven't paid back their loans on time and haven't been jailed for it. If you bring the person (alive) to the city, you could get a reward of say, 10% of the money they skipped out on. In fact, this would be interesting all-around... for any crime in a city, being able to drag the criminal back to the city to face justice.
