Backstab

Post by Brier » Fri Aug 24, 2007 4:54 am

This might be the wrong place for this, I'm still new.

I was gone for a while then came back and discovered backstab was no longer taught in the training temples.. Why was it removed? I thought it was a good skill for rogues to know when they were just starting out. I was a bit disapointed.. Just curious as to why it was no longer available.

Because backstab is no longer a skill given to bards. And since rogues can be either bards or thieves once graduated from the training temples, you cannot learn the skill until you are guilded as a thief.

Im proposing adding an adition backstab to the game, akin to second attack.

Apon a successful backstab, and dual wielding, you have a chance to get another backstab off.

I'd say it would depend on the weapons you wield in dual wield. Two daggers? Okay, a dagger and a rapier? Why not? A longsword? Uhh...a dagger and a bastard sword? Well... ;)

Nooooo nononono....

No more kludging the backstab skill!

What we need for rogues is to dump it and circle for true D&D style sneak attack, which increases to drastic scales as you rise in level, increases to d8's if you take greater sneak attack, and counts for the extra damage with every single flank or flatfooted attack you make.

That is roguish goodness! :)

Yar! alot of us older thieves out there would looove sneak attack and something like Feint or trip to go with it! I thought the backstab skill did go up like in the books every 2 or 3 levels level 1 1d6 level 3 2d6 etc..greater backstab -drools- To bad alot of the rogue special abilities can't be used in a fomat as this..although I wish we got bonus feats in place of those special abilities since if yu don't chose one you can take a feat point instead >.>
