I thought this had been fixed, but the bug still exists (at least on the test port).
When a skill-enhancing spell like burrow (adds to "dig") fades off or is dispelled, your skill is reduced permanently (at least if casting the spell was enough to make you go beyond GM).
For example:
- a character is master at "dig".
- he casts "burrow" and then becomes GM
- one "burrow" is dispelled, the character has "dig: unknown"

I move non-severe bugs that have fallen dead (no new posts) to Dead Bug Reports. Fixed Urgent bugs should usually stay, but I would like a post in General Discussion placed as a sticky since this is very urgent and can really mess up a players skills.

As a precaution, is it possible to temporarily disable such spells? If people can't cast them, they can't mess things up. I see to recall this having been done to a couple spells in the past that were bugged.

I know old thieves gear from certain quests did. If you wear items that +skill and the bonus is greater than your difference to GM, it takes you to whatever level is grandmaster - bonus. So.
original skill + bonus = gm, however gm - bonus < original skill
