I think that players with strikes should be able to marry, just not benefit from anything frills, they should only be able to use the no frills option.

I disagree. I think strikes should be used to judge individual rewards. Roleplaying a wedding is a group rewarding roleplay, just because one player has a strike then, your taking roleplay away from other players who dont have strikes.

I really don't see it as taking away from RP. They are still getting a wedding, after all. And, in the end, can not even the simplest of ceremonies be the most memorable? ;)

I'm not trying to discourage the new proposal. I like it very much, in fact. I guess you could call me Devil's Advocate for the day...or so.

I don't see a problem with people with strikes marrying.

There is no reward but roleplay when it comes to marriage.

yeah.. its not like you get joint checking accounts :P

My question is (forgive me if I missed it) What will happen with the divorce process? I read that it will stil be applied for so that the certificate qlog will be removed.. but will it still be the same rate etc?

Jsut curious since I am sure there will be a huge influx of marriage rp when people do not have to app for it. *contemplates making a tiefy divorce lawyer with the firm of Duey, Cheatam and Howe*

100 platinum for a divorce is a bit of a sum, but I think it will help people put a bit of thought into who they're marrying. The exception to this rule is if the player of one of the marry-ees has not logged in for 90 days or has been sitebanned, in which cases the fee will be waived. Does that make sense?

I still think divorce should be applied for, that way we can avoid messy situations where one party disowns the other party outside of a reasonable timescale. I think 90 days real life is fair.

I did mean that it should still be applied for. :) Bascially, I really don't think anything will change regarding divorces.

I know this might seem like a silly question but for the couple who are already married are they going to have to have a certificate showing they are married or am I misunderstanding something here?

Currently married couples will have no changes made. :) It's just the characters who wish to be married from this point further.

So has it been decided that the new wedding system is coming into play now?
