Halfdrow and common

Post by Mele » Wed Aug 13, 2008 9:46 pm

Created a halfdrow, he recieved common. I logged him off speaking common from list in shops, logged back in and...

Speaking: common

speak common
You do not know that language.

common (Int,Lck)( 1)not known

Something's odd! He's still speaking common w/o the skill atm, lol.

Always thought it was a possible bonus depending on hometown choice. *shrug* Curious...

Back when I created Helixa, one of the first half-drow, I remember having to RP her learning common.

Right, I remember several half-elf characters, not just half-drow, that did not start with common as a starter language. Could have sworn it was a hometown choice... at least it felt that way on my halfies. *shrug*

It's not really relevent. :P That's not the bug. The bug is the having it then it disappearing. If I'd simply never logged off he'd still have it.

There is def something wonky with half-drow languages in Skullport...and the problem may be bigger. I'm still running test progs on it and will file to Bugzilla shortly. (I'll amend this post when I do.)

Please move to Confirmed.

Fixed this by adding an additional clause to the set_hometown_skullport function that checks for halfdrow race and, if so, adds both languages again. This makes them stick.
