Backstab / Circle stab "Power" ?

I was wondering if it could be possible in the same way wizards get some (hidden) increases to the power of his spells if rogues *cough* (Thieves) could get some some (hidden) increases to these skills which in D&D their power is directly related to their level no to their skill point distribution (like wizards and their spells).

It is already possible to get a critical on backstab/circle, are you talking about something beyond this?

Yeah, is something along the lines that those skills would have "hidden" increases according to your level, in the same way that two characters having fireball at the same level still the characted who was of higher level would have his fireballs doing somewhat more damage.

Probably along the lines of... level 1, 1d6 sneak attack. level 3, 2d6 sneak attack. level 5, 3d6 sneak attack etc.

If you're suggesting it level up based on level rather than skill level, then it would look like this:

Level 1 (level 3 in FK): Sneak attack +1d6
Level 3 (level 8 in FK): Sneak attack +2d6
Level 5 (level 13 in FK): Sneak attack +3d6
Level 7 (level 18 in FK): Sneak attack +4d6
Level 9 (level 23 in FK): Sneak attack +5d6
Level 11 (level 28 in FK): Sneak attack +6d6
Level 13 (level 33 in FK): Sneak attack +7d6
Level 15 (level 38 in FK): Sneak attack +8d6
Level 17 (level 43 in FK): Sneak attack +9d6
Level 19 (level 48 in FK): Sneak attack +10d6

I don't know how that'd mesh out considering that your skill level should probably be factored in somewhere..

Though my rogue/thief experience is rather limited, I do agree that their defining combat abilities should scale a bit better.
