Estrild's Masquerade.

Post by Harroghty » Wed Jan 14, 2009 3:58 am

Posted for Estrild (look for an in-game notification from her!):

To all those presented with these tidings, greetings. May grace and blessings preside over you. It is my utmost honor to extend to you, my gracious lord or lady, an open invitation to a costumed ball. to be held upon this date. The ball shall be held in the city of Daggerford by the chapel seen on Duke's Way. We will begin the activities with beautiful performances, and then, a mystery gift exchange and tasty food. To attend or perform, pray contact the gracious ladies Faria or Estrild. A gift valued between five and ten platinum, preferably of an unusual or interesting type and suited for any recipient may be presented at any time prior to ball to the ladies for allotment.

Ahem..

Estrild would like to bring to your attention that players must remember that the point of a Masquerade is to be among the excitement of the unknown and the sheer randomness. Masks are worn to provide obscurity and players should try to simulate that as best they can, even from those who greeted you.

Will you be dancing with an enemy and never know it?

Did your best friends husband or Torm himself just step on your toes?

When the masks finally come off will your opinion of the stranger have changed any now that you know who it is?

The potential of how entertaining and character developing this event can be is reliant on those who attend it as well as those hosting. I for one hope as many people as possible show.

The location has changed! Please take note:
To all those interested in attending the Masquerade, greetings!
This is a notice to inform you of its change in location.
The ball will be held now in Berdusk in the castle ballroom.
There will be signs posted the day of the event to guide you.
Pray remember that in addition to your best clothes, guests
must don masks for the celebration. Please ask Faria or
Estrild if you are having difficulty securing a proper mask.
Please remember to bring an unusual present (as detailed
in the previous notice posted by Faria), if you have not
already given yours to Faria or Estrild. These will be
distributed amongst the guests at random for a Mystery
Gift Exchange.

I had a few people yesterday say "I'm sorry I missed the ball! I forgot!"

Never fear, friends, you haven't missed it yet. Next weekend. <3

So all of you who said "I didn't have time to find a present/mask/dress/date/cthulu" you still have time.

And please don't bring cthulu.

If your date does happen to be an elder god, please make certain to hide his squishy tentacle face behind a mask like the rest of us uglies.

I'm certain that any bard willing to lend an instrument or perhaps a song suitable to a masquerade that they had written or wanted to share for the canceled festival last weekend would be welcome to perform by the gracious masquerade hosts.

Yes, hopeful performers are welcomed! What is a ball with out music? True, I don't think there was much singing during balls, but who cares. As long as you have fun, right?

If you want to perform, please tell Estrild and/or Faria in game either in person, via amulet, or even magical post if you never see us.

Don't worry, I'm bringing the Cthulu.

Heck, if you show up and are like "i r sorryz but has song to sing!!11" then. . .then you can. We won't throw you out. Well, Estrild won't. Estrild's the nice one. Faria though. . .you'd just better look out. Runs the ball with an iron fist, let me tell you.

BUT! Don't forget the presents! Presents are key to the present exchange. No present, no exchange for you.

Break the rules, and Faria and son will break knee caps.

Reminder!!

Saturday in Berdusk at the castle ballroom which isn't open yet, don't worry, you aren't in the wrong place! It'll be there Saturday! with a mask and a present if you didn't already give your present to Faria or Estrild for safekeeping.

I should be on an hour or so early to make sure everything's ready and stuff, so if you are terribly, horribly lost you can try and grab me.
