Okay, sorry to dominate the threads on this building project! But when you're full of creativity, you have to just do it, don't you?
Basically, I am creating a "Library of Theology" in the Font, where you can look around the library for every single God. Now, what I'm doing is working from this list: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Fo ... an_deities
All the human deities will have their own section (i.e, you type "Cyric" and you get a description of what that section of the library is like, and a description of the sort of books that are ICly there - then people can RP studying in that particular section, during any roleplays or whatever).
I want to open it up to make it even more participatory. If you have a character in any faith in-game, and you'd like to have your name written in that section as a "contributor" to the Library of Theology, just post your character's name and the God they've gathered books for, afterwards.
What does this do? Well, it adds an IC depth to this room. If you want to RP giving books to an Oghman in-game, please do. It'd be nice for people in the future (thanks for this suggestion, Peverell, which I've adapted only slightly) to look at a section of this library and think, "Wow, the great hero Sophie helped gather the books for this library, that must have been years ago!".
Don't feel you need to limit this to your well-known characters or faith leaders. If I get multiple names for the same faith, I'll put all the names in and make sure IC it is a much bigger section because the faithful got their act together and decided to hijack the Oghman desire to have every faith represented.
And yes, Cyricists, Maskarrans and Bane-followers are welcome to put their names here. The Oghmans are putting their own books in those sections as well (just so people don't believe your lies, you understand), but ICly there'll be some evil books too.
Hope y'all like the idea!
Ollie
IC:
Friends, enemies, people who like books,
The Oghmans extending the Font of Knowledge in Waterdeep would love to hear from you. We want to hear from any member of any faith in all of Faerun. Send us your theological texts, or donations for us to buy these theological texts, and we will grant you some honour by naming you in your faith's section in our library. We will not pay, but we hope that by this action, inviting all faiths (human, goblin, orc, elven, dwarven, Mulhorandi, every faith!) to participate, we can create a wonderful library for all to learn in.
Binder Inspire,
Lerytha Holt

Re: Font of Knowledge: Library of Theology
I'm a bit confused as to what you're asking for...
Real books that have been published in-game, to be physically collected by Lerytha?
Titles of in-game books?
Made up titles? (As not all of the gods on that list are represented in FK, this is the bit that's really throwing me...)
Or just a list of names of characters who would ICly collect information?
Or a mixture of the above...?
I'm just confused because talking about passing the books on in-game suggests you want books that have been published in game... But not all of the gods on that list have an FK presence (some are followed as non-coded gods, of course), and there aren't any books that exist for them and... It's making my poor little autistic brain hurt
Could you clarify, please?

Re: Font of Knowledge: Library of Theology
Yes, this was very vague. Sorry!
Basically, I am going to put an extended description in this room, with the keyword being each god's name. So, typing "Cyric" would reveal a description about what the "Cyric section" looks like. And so forth. This thread is basically asking anyone who wants to RP having ICly donated books, to have their name in an extended description. There won't be any real books in these sections (although if there are particularly famous books you want included in the description as I know Jaenoic has named some, let me know), just descriptions of the God and the kinds of books his followers would read.
As an example:
"The section devoted to Cyric stands here, out of the way. The Oghmans of the Font have interspersed the lies found here, with their own texts countering the faith's many spurious claims. Nonetheless, in the interests of knowledge, the Oghmans do have some Cyricist texts here, detailing key dogmatic themes, key personages, even a few pieces of poetry to the glory of Cyric. In this section, there are golden names written, declaring all those Oghmans who have fallen in battle against the Mad faith."
I'm thinking of ways to tying all these extra descriptions to a quest to gain decent levels of "Knowledge: Religion".
Is that any clearer, Pev? Must've been asleep when I wrote the first post!

Heh, I got overly excited and went a little overboard on my submission. Sorry!
