Unable to smith with long spikes (warhammers):

Not sure if you guys know this or not, but Soulhammer cannot be used to smelt nor smith.

When attempting to use it for that, you get:
You need to wield a hammer.

Info on Soulhammer:
It belongs to the long spikes category of weapons

The hammer I normally use for smithing is labeled:
It belongs to the short spikes category of weapons

I sent this in to the builders email. The response was:
This is actually a hard code bug ... Smithing should be possible with warhammers as well as with normal hammers.

I disagree, I'll fix the area file instead so it won't suggest a soulhammer can be used for smithing.
