Happy Winter-een-mas!!!!!

Post by Algon » Mon Jan 25, 2010 3:34 pm

For those of you who do not know of this joyous occasion. It is a time of wonder and awe, as we all gather around our consoles and PCs and enjoy the things that seemed to always put a smile on our faces. The same things that seem to be able to make us mad enough to throw controllers across rooms in fury.
I am of course speaking of the wonders of Gaming!
This is the time of year for everyone to enjoy the games that we love so much, and in our case the people who spend time with us here. So I wish to say thank you to everyone for making this the most enjoyable game I have had the honor of playing.
May your Mountain Dew Code Red stay cold and your assorted snack supplies never run low.
Happy Winter-een-mas to all and to all an extra life!

The first day is for action, platform and adventure games, represented by a man dressed as Indiana Jones.
The spirit of action and adventure, the platformer great
A hero by name, and an alpha by fate;
With a whip or a gun, or whatever may be,
Nothing stands in his way, with a princess in need.
I'm planning to celebrate today with some Assassin's Creed II. :D Happy Wintereenmas!

Typically, Mass Effect 2's not out until the end of the week, and Bioshock 2 the week after that! Sad panda :evil:

Oww.... now is DA : O going to fall under RPG or Adventure here? I'm still only about 15 hours in on it anyways. I've been busy with a few other things of late I reckon.

RPG, definitely. The dialogue is excellent, the story is pretty solid and the decisions they have you make are some of the most galling I've ever seen in a game :wink: the high-action hack-and-slash trailers they created for DA:O aren't a good representation of the game at all.

Oh snap yes the decisions are awesome. I won't go into too much detail, but the decision with the queens son, wow... wow. I love the stuff they put out over there at Bioware. They never miss.

Yes, that's pretty much it...World of Warcraft for me :)

da flüstern die Gräser und wiegen sich leicht
im Wind, der sanft über das Gräberfeld streicht.

Winter-een-mas Day 2

Post by Keltorn » Tue Jan 26, 2010 5:08 am

Second day is for first-person shooters, represented by a 21 year old that needs sleep.
Along side him he saw, a rather peculiar lad
Quiet by nature, with a desire to frag;
First person shooters are his field, his sole expertise
And no one is better, at bringing noobs to their knees.
Modern Warfare 2 and Left 4 Dead 2 for me. I love my P90. :-D

Assasins Creed 2 was well worth the wait, the ending especially a real twist!

I finished Bioshock this week for the first time too! For the longest time, I couldn't muster the courage to go on after the Picasso-inspired plastic surgeon encounter :P truly excellent game, though. Fingers crossed for the sequel!
