Today I had to watch-wizard a situation where a seemingly low-level PC was in the middle of quest X. he attacked a mob due to arguably ambiguous directions, and the mob was defended by a watch-wizard. So far, all according to plan. However, when the watch-wizard attacked him, she killed him. Quite fast, I'm lead to understand. He has config+surrender on, but it seems she death-spelled him. I think a few things need to be peaked at, here. First, should watch-wizards be casting death-spells on people who are trying to surrender? And second, should they be able to kill someone, death spell or no, before the surrender code can do its job? The character in question is Tymain.
Thanks guys.

Config+ surrender
Far away and across the field, the tolling of the iron bell calls the faithful to their knees to hear the softly spoken magic spell.
