House insignias

Just a quick query re. house insignias...

If you spawn with a house insignia does it mean you are a noble of the house, or just a commoner?

Also, does it confere any additional inherent magical powers (know alignment, detect magic, etc)?

If you, after character creation, have a house insignia (ie House of Baenre), it means you are a noble of that specified house. However, you will need to find out what exactly the insignia does in character. Can't share any IC info OOCly

Only one problem there Sharni... finding the matron mother IC.. is not that hard... finding her online when you are is. Atleast, that is a personal problem I have always had with my drow characters.

Just wondering, but if you were given a house insignia upon character creation and you wanted to play a commoner instead, could you just destroy the insignia and be a commoner before they even left the slave pits? Would that be allowed?
