FANG

Post by Mask » Sat Jul 24, 2010 5:48 pm

I'm thinking of doing some further development on FANG over the next couple of weeks - any feature requests? Ability to cut and paste and maybe save log files a useful one? Anything else?

Well as a devout fang user all I can say is thank you thank you thank you. As for features not sure if it would be possible or not, but is there a way to add a box that shows your whole groups status kind of like when you type group command to the main window. Sure would make it easier when traveling with folks so you can see how tired they are, as well as your mounts.

I also use this client all the time it's very good, the two you mentioned above are definitely improvements I'd like to see.

I used to use it, but after a time it become slow, but if you add that stuff it'll be a blast :)

Something else could be a windows for color code picking... :P

Log saving and copy/paste are all I require.

A way to change the text size would be nice -- I find myself squinting at the screen when I use FANG, but besides that I've found it really fantastic.

I'm not sure whether it's been flagged up before, but I'll echo what Brar said, in that FANG seems to get progressively slower for me, the longer I use it in one session. I assumed it was just me!

I believe it gets slower because it remembers everything you've done in game so the longer the session the more information. The ability to set some sort of data limit for how much FANG remembers would allow it to run faster.

A "clear" command would be cool.

Problem with a data limit is that would also limit how far back your "save log" could go.

Depends, if logging it meant saving into a text file for example, then you clear that extra data once saved, eliminating the slow down.

If it cleared stored data upon saving a log, that would be fine. Especially if you had a "save append" option to append the log to an existing log file.

Easier way to re-connect/connect to testport (menu items for them)?

Would it be possible to trap the numeric keypad for movement? - for up, + for down, the ordinal directions, 5 for look?

Option to set font and font size.

Those are my top three!

Oh yes, the ability to just launch it from any memory device (usb, sd card) without it going inside the windows installed program list :p

I do that anyway, Brar... just copy the fang.jnlp file to your flash drive.

Yes, but it shows up on the programs installed of windows once you launch it once, not good when you're trying to be sneaky on your wife's comp :p

I love it, just when you reconnect, there are some buggy bits that show your old character's top half of the screen, mixed with yours... so a refresh or clear option, I completely agree on.
