Feat points

Post by Theleus » Tue Sep 28, 2010 4:36 pm

You get one feat point at character creation, then one every 8 levels: 8,16, 24,32, 40, and 48. My suggestion is that if a person can reach max level, level 50, in celebration of that achievement, they could get one additional feat point.

Our system mirrors the 3.5ed rules in that we get the same amount of feats in FK as we do in tabletop (8 for all races except humans, which get 9).

While I think certain classes need more feats (See my topic regarding retroactive bonus feats for Fighters), in general, I don't see a needed to add another feat at level 50.

1,8,16,24,32,40,48
That's only 7 feats. Where is the eighth?

Err, I quoted the wrong number. Characters typically get 7 total feats with humans gaining an extra feat at creation (for a total of 8 ).

Athon's correct in this. Some classes get bonus feats (Monks, Fighters, Wizards, Rogues [In D&D, rogues don't get bonus feats, they get special ability options]). Aside from this, every other class is limited to 7 feats + possible racial modifier to that number.

part of the special ability options for rogues is a choice of one of them or another feat point

Yeah, they can in place of it.. but I don't know any rogues that would. :P The special abilities available are pretty beastly.

Not all of them I know from use. And some of the use is not so good when translated to a mud format :-p
