Waterdeep Tailor, not taking money for repairs

Post by Gwain » Thu Oct 07, 2010 1:53 am

Code: Select all

the tailor charges you 6 copper to repair a white leather armour embossed with cloud symbols.
Gwain gives a white leather armour embossed with cloud symbols to the tailor, who quickly repairs it.
You are carrying:
a white leather armour embossed with cloud symbols (perfect)
     6 copper coins (superb)
Started off with 6 copper in my inventory and ended with the same amount. I suspect it may have to do with the low value of the object.
Justice is not neccesarily honourable, it is a tolerable business, in essence you tolerate honour until it impedes justice, then you do what is right.

Spelling is not necessarily correct :)

"Repair" bug

Post by Tyhan » Sat Oct 30, 2010 4:38 am

All right, I didn't really notice this till just now but i made a new character today and when i went to have the belt in the starter area repaired they PAId ME instead of me paying them, then the same thing happened AGAIN when I was playing Duraiz and was having my haversack repaired. This may just be a fluke but its worth checking out. Barre was with me but AFK at the time.. heres what happened.....

You stop using a soft leather haversack.
Maranta walks south.
You hear the sound of footsteps from the south.
Zander tells you, 'It will cost 4 silver to repair that.'
Zander tells you, 'Which I see you can't afford.'
You get 36 silver coins from a money pouch.
Zander charges you 4 silver to repair a soft leather haversack.
Duraiz gives a soft leather haversack to Zander, who quickly repairs it.
You are carrying:
a soft leather haversack (perfect)
40 silver coins (superb)
You put 40 silver coins in a money pouch.
You fit a soft leather haversack on your body.
You say, OOC, 'we have a bug here....'
Barre is no longer AFK.
Barre says, OOC, 'back'
Barre says, OOC, 'Bug?'
You say, OOC, 'we got a bug problem'
You say, OOC, 'yup with the Repair command'
You hear the sound of footsteps from the south.
Barre says, OOC, 'S'up?'
You say, OOC, 'when something gets repaired they give you the money they are supoosed to charge'
The Western Light leaves the docks.
You say, OOC, 'I had 36 sliver coins and repaired my haversack... then i had 40'
Barre says, OOC, 'Ow. Better report that.'
You hear the sound of footsteps from the south.
You say, OOC, 'i am right now... give me a min'

Being paid for repairs

Post by Lysha » Wed Nov 24, 2010 4:59 pm

I went to see if I could get my suplicated cloak repaired at the Waterdeep tailor, and he said he could.

Item Price
a cloak of shadows 3 silver
You get 88 silver coins from a cloth pack.
the tailor charges you 3 silver to repair a cloak of shadows.
*** gives a cloak of shadows to the tailor, who quickly repairs it.
You put a cloak of shadows in a cloth pack.
You put 91 silver coins in a cloth pack.

I thought "Okay, maybe I had coins in my hand. Let's test this again."

You are carrying:
a cloth pack (perfect)
You get a dark grey cloak woven with a skeletal hand from a cloth pack.
Item Price
a dark grey cloak woven with a skeletal hand 4 copper
You get 134 copper coins from a cloth pack.
You are carrying:
a cloth pack (perfect)
a dark grey cloak woven with a skeletal hand (usable)
134 copper coins (superb)
the tailor charges you 4 copper to repair a dark grey cloak woven with a skeletal hand.
*** gives a dark grey cloak woven with a skeletal hand to the tailor, who quickly repairs it.
You are carrying:
a cloth pack (perfect)
a dark grey cloak woven with a skeletal hand (perfect)
138 copper coins (superb)

Sorry to bring up another bug!
Your punch viciously hammers a shark's abdomen.

A new twist on not being charged. Any corroborating reports of this problem?

Moved into previous report - looks like the same problem.

Put in sensitive bugs because someone could (albeit painfully slowly) make coin this way.

selling coins

Post by Eltsac » Wed Dec 08, 2010 3:57 pm

well not sure if it's a bug or not... it's not a big deal anyway, but you can sell coins to wandering merchants :

Code: Select all

You sell 16 silver coins for 2 gold, 4 copper.

This is a bug, and a problem, in that 16 silver coins have a value of 1 gold, 4 silver (or 160 copper). The merchant is paying 204 copper, a 27.5% premium. Perhaps that's due to charisma, but still, it's a huge potential liability as a way to fabricate cash.

Problem is, I'm not sure what can be done to plug the hole short of fixing the underlying bug (which is in the queue). Can items be set as not sell-able, somehow?

Addition to this bug:

----
<100%hp 0m 16%mv> You are carrying:
a small steel pick (good)
9 copper coins (superb)

<100%hp 0m 12%mv> Bolo Trollsmelter charges you 9 copper to repair a small steel pick.
**** gives a small steel pick to Bolo Trollsmelter, who quickly repairs it.

<100%hp 0m 12%mv> You are carrying:
a small steel pick (perfect)
18 copper coins (superb)
----

Repairs and pays out the required coins.

The Waterdeep tailor wasn't paying me, but he didn't take any coin when he repaired some of my clothes. (Belt/boots/under tunic/etc) Sorry I don't have a log handy.
