More helpfile errors
Re: More helpfile errors
Before I approve this:
I just tested teach and it appeared to only require 12 int/wis/cha in order to do such. Can anyone else verify that this is accurate?

Re: More helpfile errors
Good catch, Athon! Confirmed, 12 in each is the minimum requirement. Updated helpfile to reflect that.Athon wrote:Before I approve this:

Re: More helpfile errors
Do scholar feats still require exceptionally high stats to train and use them?

Not help files, but help file related...
In the how-to threads on the forums, the 'how to follow a coded deity" (note at bottom of post), "how to follow an uncoded deity" (note at bottom of post), and "adoptions" (top of post) stickies still list application email address instead of the application forum.
Also, in the publication section, it lists LANG_DROW as a language example, should be LANG_DARKSPEAK.

Re: More helpfile errors
The SCHOLAR helpfile is up-to-date with stat requirements, and I wouldn't call those requirements exceptionally high, for a scholar. (Maybe that's because I'm a stuck-up academic, er, scholar, IRL, though.)Selveem wrote:Do scholar feats still require exceptionally high stats to train and use them?

From the help file on Deluxe Wedding Packages:
"You must prove PC priest for the ceremony."
'Prove' should be 'provide'.

Re: More helpfile errors
It was a surprise to me that if I just cast 'wind walk', it will affect everyone in the group. Could this detail be included in the help file?Wind Walk
Transmutation [Air]
Range: Touch
Target: Defensive
Syntax: cast 'wind walk' <target>
You alter the substance of your body to a cloudlike vapor and move through
the air at great speed. Wind walkers are not invisible but rather appear
misty and translucent.

Silence seems to work just fine in combat. (Log below)Silence
=======
Illusion (Glamer)
Range: Close
Target: Noncombat
Syntax: cast 'silence' <target>
This spell when cast on another prevents them from speaking at all, which
includes any verbal components needed for casting some spells. The silent
spell feat can be used to cast spells while under the effects of silence.
A crazy-haired gnome bandit is here.
You sidestep a crazy-haired gnome bandit's piercing attack.
<100%hp 92m 99%mv> Unable to apply 'extend spell' as that would require a level 3 slot.
You begin to chant.
<100%hp 92m 99%mv>
You sidestep a crazy-haired gnome bandit's piercing attack.
<100%hp 92m 99%mv>
Your pierce tears a gaping wound into a crazy-haired gnome bandit's abdomen.
a crazy-haired gnome bandit is badly bruised.

Your spell silences a crazy-haired gnome bandit.
Re: More helpfile errors
Means the spell isn't aggressive. If you cast it at an NPC who doesn't attack on sight or via delay prog, they won't suddenly respond with violence like they would if you cast magic missile or cause critical.

Re: More helpfile errors
Under 'Help AC'
Highlighted portion should read "however all of that extra weight will hinder your ability to dodge".3. Armour
-As you would expect, the heavier the armour that you wear about your character, the
more protected your character will be from harm, however all of that extra weight
hinder your ability to dodge, as well.

I think this helpfile is now moot, but it still exists, so I fixed the typo. Thanks for reporting it!Anguin wrote:From the help file on Deluxe Wedding Packages:

I think all reported errors in this post are now taken care of - please reply with more as you find them!

Re: More helpfile errors
The help file for "Greater weapon specialisation" states the following:
You may advance to the next level.
Greater Weapon Specialisation Feat
==================================
Syntax: Automatic
Prerequisites: Weapon Specialisation, membership in the Fighter's Guild
As a fighter you have reached the pinnacle of efficiency with a weapon type.
When you have taken this feat, you will gain a bonus equal to the weapon
specialisation feat that adds on top of your damage rolls. This effectively gives
you the bonus of weapon specialisation twice.
* This feat is exclusive to members of the fighter's guild
(A) Fighter Bonus Feats (B) Weapon Specialisation
However, upon trying to train said greater weapon specialisation feat, I received the following echo:
You must be at least a master in 'awesomeswords+1' before you can learn 'greater weapon specialisation' for 'awesomeswords+1' from Scooby Doo.
The names and skills have been changed to protect the innocent.
You may advance to the next level.

Re: More helpfile errors
Strictly speaking, this is not an error. More of an omission. Could we get the help file for 'Weapon Finesse' updated to include the level it becomes available? It's not available at first level.

Re: More helpfile errors
I just noticed that 'sickle' is included in the help file for polearms. I'm sure this is an error. Sickles are short blades.
