Aasimar Ability: Light

I invoked my Aasimar racial ability, 'light', on my amulet of communication. Two things happened:

1) The amulet of communication received the glowing tag (good)
2) The amulet of communication blinds me when I wear it, making me unable to move (bad)

I believe the ability 'light' is supposed to be the equivalent of continual light. I even received the echo:

A bright light begins to radiate from an amulet of communication.

I believe it is adding a second tag which blinds the wearer.

An addendum to my post:

The glow effect wore off my amulet after a few minutes, which also removed the blinding effect.

Maybe it's not continual light? Even if it's the proper 'daylight' spell from D20, it shouldn't be blinding an aasimar.

Is this still an issue? My test character Aasimars are not showing this ability.
