Hello,
I had an issue using invoke light. After using it and holding the item in question I was unable to see anything. I also gave the item to another to try out, they were unable to see anything while holding the item as well. Sight is restored upon removing the item. After the effect wears off, the item will no longer blind the wielder but i would also like to point out that its rather short lived and not very useful. I don't think it should be continual, nor as long as witch light but a bit longer duration would make it useful. If it was used for someone without light otherwise, like a newbie going into the sewers, it would not get them very far before going out.

Re: invoke light blinds recipients
Er, exactly what spell are we talking about here, assuming you mean a spell?
Could you please give me the guild and level?
Also, the race of the PCs involved?

Re: invoke light blinds recipients
Because my character was the other person who was blinded by the object, I know the details:
Casious (an Aasimar who has darkvision) utilized the 'light' ability of an Aasimar on some random mundane item. That item then received the "glowing" flag and he attempted to wear it. After he did, he couldn't see as if blinded. Upon removing the item he saw just fine.
He then handed it to me and asked me to test it OOCly. I did so and experienced the same exact thing on my Wemic who also has darkvision. We are the only two characters we tested it out with because the duration of the ability was too short to test with others and he only gets one per day.
I can't say if this would affect creatures that don't have darkvision in the same way, but I would expect us having darkvision and holding a glowing object is not the problem as my Wemic has always worn a floating glowing object from a special event.

Ah, sorry for not being clear. Yes, selveem nailed that one. Aasimars get an "invoke" ability which activates their uses-per-day abilities. One such ability "light." Strangely enough, there is no help file for this ability, but i remember there being one at some time. It used to create witch-light but was then changed to make an object glow for a time.

Re: invoke light blinds recipients
Hmmm. Well, this looks like a documentation deficiency at minimum. The object is affected by "blindglow", whatever that is! Blinding Glow, I presume, but I find no helpfile for such a thing. This might have to wait for a chance to ask Mask what he had in mind, unless someone has any better idea than do I about what's afoot here!
When held, an object with this flag certainly does blind you, which isn't all that useful since you have to cast it on an object in your own inventory.

I posted this a couple months ago:

Aasimar are supposed to be able to invoke the spell "daylight" once per day as per their racial bonus. However, since daylight isn't coded (to my knowledge), continual light would be the appropriate FK substitute.
I assume this is a bug as it doesn't make much sense for Aasimar to be blinding people.

I'm going to let this one wait for Mask's return, such that I can check in with him about what he had in mind with this undocumented spell.
