Wife/mother/Grandmother specifically?!

Wife you could try taking her out for a nice dinner or else cooking her one at home, perhaps a massage might work as well. With mother ya might try um just a nice phone call to say you were missing them and to thank them. Did i mention i am lousy at this lol.

Flowers are nice for mother/grandmother. As long as they're good ones and not from a garage. Interflora usually deliver on the Sunday too.

My mom is allergic to many flowers and so this year I got her an arrangement from Shari's Berries (http://www.berries.com/). Many radio talk shows offer a discount code for their products (click the microphone and type, for example, Glenn Beck or Mike Church). It may be too late to make good use of this next year, but I am sure that they will be around next year, too.

My mother is really religious, so all she wants is for the family to be together and go to church. Everyone flies home and we all get dressed up and she gets to relive her favorite memories of us as children all going to church as a family.

If you and your mother did stuff when you were a kid, like bike riding, or hiking, anything at all that can take her back to when you were a little person - I'd try that out. At least, that's the kind of sappy crap my mother likes.
