Reading an inscription

For a quest I need to read the inscription on the side of an item. I do not speak the language it is written in but I have Comprehend languages, True sight, and Tongues cast and I still can't make out the inscription.

 Affected: Tongues for a long time

It is a small stone, about the size of a hand, with an elven 
inscription around the outer edge of it.
It can be picked up, held.
It cannot be worn with any other armour.
It is small in size.
Try as you might, you cannot make out the inscription.

Sorry for the black curtain here, you reported this earlier and because the issue involves a quest item it was moved to the sensitive bugs forum, not visible to the public. It is in the queue for attention, though. We debated a bit about what would work and would not, and decided comprehend languages or tongues should do the trick, but True Sight doesn't actually do translations. If the inscription was hidden, though, it would help.
