decanter does have a bottom

Post by Briek » Mon Oct 24, 2011 5:21 pm

You drink water from a decanter of endless water.

You finish a decanter of endless water.
Obviously, it shouldn't run out, this also used up the item so I no longer have it

No, it can run out.

The item has 1000 charges (drinks of water) and you can recharge it to 1000 again.

I need clarification on that.

1. When you say recharge (assuming that is with the key phrase), it is just one recharge or can be refilled endlessly via the recharge phrase?

2. Is it supposed to disappear when empty, like a common ale glass, or should it remain even if empty, like many mugs and other water containers?

It can be refilled endlessly and, yes, when empty it will disappear. I will investigate at some point to figure out if the recharge function is ever explained in-character and then take action accordingly.

As far as I recall it isn't explained when the decanter is given. The decanter does have a keyword to refill it when examined.

As Lirith says, the quest just handed you the item at the end of the quest (much like the other 3 ***). No information, IC or OOC, is offered regarding its function or risk, unless the area in question had a major overhaul since I did the quests.

And thanks for the quick answer. I'll be sure to use the key word after every use to ensure mine doesn't poof away.

Could I possibly have another one?

I wasn't aware of this refilling business as Nysan said
