Wiki?
I think it would be a good idea if the game had a Wiki of some sort. Help files could be placed in it and some basic information about the world. And a 'newbie guide' or something.
Re: Wiki?
Have you looked at the on-line help system?

It should cover most of your questions. We are always welcome to suggestions though, so if that doesn't satisfy a perceived need then let us know. I appreciate your enthusiasm!

Re: Wiki?
Some of the links in the help pages do not work, and reading everything in-game can be a little hard on one's eyes...
Re: Wiki?
Adventurer's Guide for certain. And some, if not all, of the links (help topics) that have commas in them...
Re: Wiki?
I checked a bunch of the links in the Adventurer's Guide (with and without commas) and they work alright for me. Could it be your client, Trillarel?
In 'help topics' the link '(N) Skills, spells and trades' doesn't work for me either and sends my character north instead. You can reach this topic via the Adventurer's Guide to read the helpfile.
We'll work on fixing the link! (I should really know how to do that huh?)

Re: Wiki?
Wait, are we talking about the in-game helps or the web page links?

Web page links.Mask wrote:Wait, are we talking about the in-game helps or the web page links?
When I click Adventurer's Guide in the help system, I get this:
"No help found for 'Adventurer\\\'s Guide', try navigating to it from the Main Menu"
Main Menu doesn't help.
Re: Wiki?
This should now be fixed, thanks for the bug report.
Re: Wiki?
I spent about an hour yesterday afternoon just testing links on the online help files and did not come across anything other than the above mentioned that did not work.

Re: Wiki?
Looks like the in-game
(N) Skills, Spells and Trades
out of HELP ADVENTURER'S GUIDE
works now too; typing N should bring it up, or at least it does for me.
Thanks for reporting this, please don't be shy about doing so with other such things you encounter.

Re: Wiki?
Still, a Wiki would be nice. It could contain the current year date, list of events that took place and list of cities that are in game and a list of those that are under construction... I remember looking at the overall map and wondering where's Suzail... and thinking the '?' near Storm Horns is Nashkel, while it turned out to be something else...
I see a 'entrance to Candlekeep' and 'entrance to Beregost' in Sword Coast, but cannot enter either... what's going on?
EDIT 2: A part of Long Way is labeled Mirabar, yet there's no way to enter the city.
EDIT 3: Found entrance to Luskan, but no way to enter the city.
EDIT: Is low-light vision in game? With both my elf chars, at night I get 'it's pitch black...' without a torch...

Re: Wiki?
Remember that areas are being built and added all the time, but that cities are a huge amount of work.
A lot of areas have placeholders and bits on the map where they clearly should be - because as far as your character's concerned, the cities ARE there - but you can't enter them simply because it hasn't been built/implemented yet.

Re: Wiki?
Oh, right. All the more reason to make a help page about the fact, so that newbies don't think it's a bug...
And what about low-light vision?

Re: Wiki?
Darkvision is in the game, you should view the room in all one color. I believe they are looking into a rolling blackout bug.

Re: Wiki?
Thx.
One more question: what does the "You have exceeded this trainer's experience" mean? I cannot understand this message even after looking through "help train"...

Re: Wiki?
It means that you have learned everything that this specific trainer is able to teach about the certain skill/spell. Trainers will only train you to a certain level, after that it requires practice to better the skill/spell.Trillarel wrote:Thx.

Re: Wiki?
Yes, low light vision is in the game, you will experience it when the moon is out at night.
Of course if it is cloudy or the moon is in the new moon phase or the like, then you won't see much.
It's called LOW-LIGHT for a reason after all.

Some places on the world map will turn that way lately, but I haven't noticed it happening on my other chars. If you stand outside at night for any amount of time, the room you're in could suddenly be pitch black (I noticed it happening after a change of space in inventory and what have you). The thread's in the bug reporting area.

That could be what's happening if you're fine in one room and the next moment in the same room it's Pitch Black.
