Bug fix month

Hi there,

I saw a couple of comments along the lines of requests that particular bugs get fixed sooner rather than later. Only Raona and myself really work on bugs these days, and it's easy for us to fall somewhat behind, and then get overwhelmed when we look at the number of bug reports still open.

Bugs seem to fall into three categories: 1) Area bugs which Harroghty and Lathlain do an incredible job of staying on top of, 2) Hard code bugs which are obviously bugs and easy to reproduce, so just get fixed and 3) Hard code bugs which are impossible to reproduce and are a time hole sink trying to fix.

What I'd like to do between now and the 15th of April is identify and fix as many bugs which fit into category (2) as possible. A secondary goal is to get more eyes on the category (3) bugs, but let's start with clearing up category (2) bugs.

Therefore, I invite you to respond to this post with a link to an issue you would like to see fixed that fits into category (2).

Shield spec and enhancement bonus not stacking.
Item is 'a tower shield of rock-hard metal'. There are RMI shields that do stack properly, so this problem is not, as it originally was, with all magic heavy and tower shields.

From Oct 2011 - the issue with storerooms mysteriously emptying themselves. Causing player dwellings, and luggage storage to leave many players lacking their items.

This was actually an area bug, but it should now be fixed anyway.

This is a category (3). As best I can tell, this was an isolated one off occurance that hasn't happened again. I don't know why it happened, and we've spent a large amount of time trying to reproduce it with no success.

I tried to order these in what I thought was the easiest to correct with greatest impact.

Spell Miss = No Aggression.

Power Attack Not Giving Correct Bonuses for 2-Handed Weapons.

Not getting full attacks in killmode spar.

Str Bonus from items not giving full bonus.

Base Fullblade Damage Incorrect.

Swim does not increase while affected by Waterbreathing.

*Also, previously unreported: level-adjusted characters do not receive full dex bonus to max # items in inventory.

Fixed first two in hard code, third in area code.

These should all be fixed except for the last one, which I can't reproduce, log it to Bug Reporting and someone might help out.

What about clothing bugs? Like these

Energy Items

Leather/Cloth/Hair

Leather showing as Cloth, vice versa in some cases

I'm also still getting echoes of harnesses for griffons, such as this: Sorkah, a golden griffon tries to fit into a red leather harness studded with rubies but it was made for a humanoid and so, does not fit. That is the one you are asked to make to get a griffon.

I know there was another that Gwain posted about cloth in general cases coming up as padded, like the clothing from the emporiums, but I believe that was handled as I cannot find the thread.

Thank you Mask for taking the time to work on all the bugs. It is really appreciated.

I can take care of these if Mask would rather focus elsewhere. Did you acquire the harness before that item was fixed? If so then it just needs to be replaced; the changes did not carry over to all existing copies. Please just PM me rather than replying here.

Let's please limit this thread to hard code bugs that only Mask can handle.

There's this blade barrier bug: viewtopic.php?f=136&t=10214&p=67434&hil ... ier#p66792

Which might have been fixed in something else, which means blade barrier's component just needs to be fixed back to normal.

Blade barrier cannot really be fixed, so I've removed it from the game.

Were you referring to the Waterbreathing one? Or Level-Adjusted Characters not receiving full dex bonus to max # items in inventory?
