Spellcasting Prodigy (Newbie Area)

Post by Dovan » Fri Sep 17, 2010 7:20 pm

Seems you can not train Spellcasting Prodigy off Elminster if you've a negative fortitude score. For information, this is on an elf wizard who has a con of 8, giving a -1 fort save. Per the helpfile though, there is no restriction to be placed on taking this feat.
Elminster says, 'I can train:
Spellcasting prodigy for 1 electrum.
Mind over body for 1 electrum.
Poison resist for 1 electrum.
You are carrying:
10 gold coins (superb)
Elminster says to you 'If you wish to train a feat whose name is'
Elminster says to you 'composed of more than one word, you will'
Elminster says to you 'have to surround the name with single'
Elminster says to you 'quotes, as in "train 'mind over body'".'
Elminster says to you 'Let me know when you are ready to go on.'
Your fortitude save is not sufficient for this feat.
Spellcasting prodigy feat
=========================
You have an exceptional gift for magic.

If you possess this feat, your primary spell-casting ability score is
considered to be two higher for purposes of calculating the number of bonus
spells recieved.

This feat has no pre-requisites beyond the fact it must be taken before level
4.

This appears to be resolved. I was just able to train this feat as a young wizard (human Wi3 with CON of 8) from that trainer.
