Tanning without tan.

You fail to tan the average-grade skin of a griffon properly.

You finish tanning.

I don't have the trade, but it is letting me use it. Unsuccessfully thus far.
Beshaba potatoes.

This is the case mining and smelting as well (and likely some other trades, too). You have a very slim chance of any measure of success, but for example, with some luck, you might turn a superior quality skin into an inferior-grade hide even without knowing the smelting trade. I don't believe you improve at the underlying trade, even when that happens. I know I pointed this out to Mask while we were working out the kinks in the new trade system, and I think it is intentional. You won't learn the trade this way, but you can attempt it anyway.

Thanks for the report!

If anyone would argue that lacking the skill, you shouldn't have any chance of carrying out the work at all, please say so here. I've added a comment to the TRADES helpfile covering this fact.

I see this for mending and fletching.
Justice is not neccesarily honourable, it is a tolerable business, in essence you tolerate honour until it impedes justice, then you do what is right.

Spelling is not necessarily correct :)
