Two-weapon defence

Post by Mele » Sat Jun 09, 2012 8:10 am

This might just merely need a helpfile update, and not be a bug at all. I'm pretty much assuming that's the case at it were, but it's worth mentioning and getting straightened out for other people as code durr as me.

The two-weapon defence feat does not stack with armour that grants +shield. So if you have a +2 shield ring and train the feat, nothing changes. I had stupidly assumed that a feat wouldn't count like armour. :)

Hopefully at least a helpfile update will save people a feat point!
Beshaba potatoes.

I'm pretty sure it should be cumulative at least.

Unfortunately for your PC, not a code bug but a helpfile omission. In the rules we now follow, you have four "kinds" of protection, and the same kind does not stack. Shield is one of those kinds. So if you have multiple things that increase your shield bonus to AC, only the largest bonus will apply (which would be the shield ring, in this case).

I've updated the two weapon defense and armour class helpfiles to try to clarify this. (I didn't understand it fully myself when the changes first came in!)

Thank you for pointing out the likely confusion here - suggestions for further improvements are appreciated, with the caveat that while I can drone on forever, the helpfiles are meant to be concise.
