Wizard Bonus Feats
Wizard Bonus Feats
Per the helpfile, 'wizard bonus feats', wizards get a total of four. My wizards, at lvl 32 and lvl 18, have yet to see one. I'm not sure if this is a bug, or a feature never added/removed.

Re: Wizard Bonus Feats
Confirmed, there does seem to be something amiss here. Perhaps something not consistently reproducible, as I got different results with two test PCs:
A transmuter gained one bonus feat, at level 30-something, then nothing more.
A plain wizard gained no bonus feats up to level 50.
To reproduce:
Create a new vanilla wizard PC
Check FEATS
ADVANCE this PC to 50
Check FEATS
Expected: 4? wizard bonus feats
Observed: 0 wizard bonus feats
Changing the stats on the very same test PC (to an utterly unrealistic 20 across the board) gained them 1 bonus feat at level 50. So the amount you get may be stat-related; the helpfile only says you can gain four, not that you will. But even in that case, I think it may be broken, unless the parameters require actual play, which my testing didn't emulate.
Any wizards out there know they've gained a full quiver of bonus feats?

Re: Wizard Bonus Feats
For fighters, the word can is also used - however my level 50 fighter, has gotten all 11, with only dex up to 18. My higher level wizard, level 32 in my last post, is a transmuter. Now level 34, still no bonus feats, con and int to 18.

My level 50 Invoker has never received bonus feat points; I wasn't even aware he was supposed to.
What are you talking about? What, that guy?
That was like that when I got here.

According to the source material wizards should be receiving their four bonus feats at levels 12.5, 25, 37.5, and 50.

Re: Wizard Bonus Feats
I checked 'feats' on my level 19 necromancer, and he's getting 1 bonus feat point. My first thought was that perhaps some wizard specialties were receiving more bonus feats than others? However, I created a new necromancer on the testport and gave him the same base stats as my necromancer, and he didn't see any bonus feat points from 1-50. I don't honestly know what these are tied to; The inconsistencies are awkward though. Is it maybe just a random occurrence throughout leveling? Some will receive, some will not? Which would seem peculiar in itself if that were it, with how valuable these points are. But again, I have no idea. It might be that there are hidden prerequisites to be met for these bonus feat points that I didn't meet in testing it.

Re: Wizard Bonus Feats
Right, found the pattern to this one:
A wizard gains bonus feat points after they're guilded based on how many levels they've gained before they were guilded, ie:
1) A level 10 wizard who becomes a mage gains zero bonus feats, whereas
2) A level 26 wizard who becomes a mage gains two bonus feats
The bonus feats are gained at levels 12, 25, 37, and 50.

*Re: Wizard Bonus Feats
Excellent sleuthing, Enig!
However, I think that means we do indeed have a bug, at least relative to canon, in that d20 shows wizard bonus feats accruing to wizards of all stripes (at levels 5, 10, 15, and 20). Adjusted for our L50 = L20, the 12, 25, 37, 50 pattern is right, but canon would not have it tied to guild at all. I suspect that part works as intended, something necessary to properly handle the guild change (in which I suspect feat counts are stripped off and put back), so the problem is simply that
Wizards (guilded or not) do not accrue wizard bonus feats as they go up in levels.

Re: Wizard Bonus Feats
I can confirm that at present, Seraphine (guilded as invoker) has received no bonus feats as of level 26. She was guilded as invoker at around level 15-16 I would estimate.

Re: Wizard Bonus Feats
Alright! I followed up with Lirith's report and discovered that she has the expected number of feats for a character of her level +1 bonus point already spent.
