I recently found out you need at least journeyman in second attack to train in third attack. But only after I spent about 45 minutes looking for a trainer for third attack. Any chance the help file could be changed to specify journeyman being required?

Thanks!
Oy! That whole system looks to have been changed, and I've revised the helpfile extensively to reflect such. Sorry about that...I didn't get the memo, until you spoke up!
Hey, no problem! Also, and maybe this should go under bugs, but it appears you can train second attack before the listing on 'skills' suggests such <.< Is that part of the revision?

Most, if not all skills, can be trained up to 5 levels beneath their level requirement, though they take higher amounts of experience to do so. This has always been the case. I assume spells are unlike this, as their spell slots require the actual level to memorize and cast them.

You can learn the spells up to 5 levels below the requirement but like you said, can't make any use of them until the spell slot is available at the appropriate level.

So, I was noticing, when I deposited 693 copper, my weight went from ~62 to ~47, 15 pounds for ~700 copper, which would suggest the help file to be erroneous (if this is intentional) or some kind of miscode, if the help file's indicated weights are intentional? Figured I'd post here and check.
Yes indeed, looks like someone has tweaked things to more accurately reflect real densities! Platinum and gold have become much more weight-efficient coins to carry about. Updated helpfile accordingly. Again, thanks for the heads-up!

Wow, just looked at the new helpfile, and woot! That is indeed a -massive- improvement to gold/plat, and the rest, really, aside from copper. ;)

More of a suggestion than an error. I recently made a new priest character and, out of curiosity, tried to use the CONCEAL command. (I briefly toyed with and discarded the idea of concealing that I was a priest). I got a 'huh' message. It was suggested to me that the conceal command probably only works on faith holy symbols, not the generic one you get starting off. Maybe it would be good to add that the the help file on conceal?

There is not a helpfile for the spell sandstorm. I have honestly never seen this spell in action, though it is on one of my spell lists, so I am not sure what it even does.
I am going to do some testing on this and figure out what to put in the helpfile.

From the D&D Wiki:

Code: Select all

Turning slowly, your attuned sand flows out from you, converting a portion of the ground (whatever it is) into additional sand. This sand rises up and begins to swirl viciously around you. At the end of your second spin, the sand is swirling extremely quickly in a 20 ft. radius around you, generating a wind of 45 mph in an area extending 10 feet from the radius of the storm. Also, you no longer have to spin but must concentrate to keep the technique going and cannot use a different technique while concentrating. The storm extends 10 feet at the beginning of each round.

Creatures caught within the storm take 2d10 damage at the beginning of their turn. Also, all creatures more than 5 feet away from each other inside the storm have total concealment as they are blocked from view by the very intense sand.

Hey I noticed the following today:-

Formation
=========
Syntax: Formation [front|middle|back]

Formations allow groups to rank their members from front to back. Members
further back in the formation are less likely to be attacked, but members in
the back rank are also less able to attack hand to hand.

* The leader of the group must group must be in the front rank.

* Ranks behind the front must contain fewer group members than are in the
rank immediately in front of them. (Thus, the back rank can only be filled
with three in the front, and two in the middle.)

(A) Commands Used During Combat (B) Groups
(C) Preparing for Combat

From the help file 'halfling personality' - typos highlighted.
Halflings are clever, capable opportunists. They prefer trouble
to boredom. They are curious and have the ability to survive or escape
danger. They like food and other pleasure, and prefer confort to wealth
exhibition. They are also some famour collectors. Halfling adventurers
are typically looking for a way to gain wealth or status. Adventuring
is an opportunity.

They get along with everyone else and know how to make themselves
valuable and welcome. They are mostly found in human communities as
those don't live long and offer more opportunities to exploit.

They tend to be neutral and practical, they are comfortable with
change (chaotic trait) and rely on constants like clans and personal
honor (lawful trait). The cheif halfling deity is Yondalla,
the Blessed One, protector and provider. Many halflings also follow
Tymora, as being lucky is a halfling trait.

Could we get an update for "help current high priests"? Cadderly told me about it and it seemed really cool but it appears to be largely out of date.

I don't think all the help files exist yet for it to be entirely updatable?

Ahh, that makes sense. Each of those names would link to another helpfile. Don't know how that didn't occur to me... O.o

Looks like to you need to be at least level 10 to use that command. I added a note to the helpfile to that effect - thanks for mentioning it!

I didn't see a helpfile in place for this spell (proto- or approved), so I created one. This spell is the first in a series of new tactical spells. Thanks for pointing it out!

Could we add to the helpfiles that for greater two-weapon fighting, you need dual wield(master) and for shield specialisation, you need to be level 15?
