Just some perspective: We are ranked 3d on TMC and don't really compete on other voting sites energetically. Still, of the top five MUDs on TMC we have the most player reviews, the most recent ones, and the largest number of positive ones. In contrast, we are ranked 190th of 842 worlds statistically on MudStats. Compare that with number two Aardwolf (3d of 842) and number one Sloth MUD (110th of 842).
What does this mean? We all know that MUDs are a dying genre, but we are part of an even smaller group: role-playing MUDs. We log fewer players on average monthly than many other games, less than most others in TMC's top 10. I am reminded of us when I see Kobold Quarterly's editor, Wolfgang Baur, sign off an article with "we remain, small but fierce". You all do a great job promoting the game that you enjoy and giving we the staff members (who are also your fellow players in every case) the opportunity to exercise our creativity through improving the game based upon your experiences and suggestions. We thrive on your enthusiasm for the game. Thanks, and keep it up.
