Several characters, yes.
Some time ago, several trades had Luck as a deciding skill-stat, mining in particular, so it was a big part of one character's life. Of course, trade stats have changed, but I still favor luck in a number of his tasks. And until I know for certain otherwise, I work under the assumption that a number of his tasks have hidden luck success roles.
Also, Nysan is obsessed with luck because, well that is part of his life. I often use 'ill fortune' and 'good fortune' as blessing/cursing characters when he finds the need/desire to do so.
Luck is a big stat, even if people do not realize its impact on their day-to-day. *shrug*
