These would be my final thoughts on the he topic for now

First, glory is static, as long as people make quests and players do these quests you will always have available glory to spend.

Second, maybe the solution is not in removing the cost or quote resizing? I did not have issues with paying the amount of glory I did, but others might benefit from reduced cost for resizing armour items, weapons should maintain their current cost since resizing weapons abuse was the reason tailoring of magic objects was removed.

Now that's about everything I can think to say on this topic I certainly hope that it gets resolved and people that play large or small characters will be content.

Weapons abuse is no longer an issue, with the new system implementing size penalties correctly. Even so, I don't have a problem with weapon and trinket costs remaining the same. Armor is the real issue here. A character might only use 3 or 4 different weapons and a few trinkets. That is easily obtainable with the current resize system. But there are 8 different pieces of armor, and obtaining enough glory for everything is currently not doable if I remember correctly.

On my little person character I've never really worried about this subject. Even after dumping countless amounts of glory on stats and feat points in the old days I still have had enough to resize and rename a couple of items. I've never really needed much resized anyway, the mundane armor pieces I have are good and I can make up for a lot by buffing up with spells. I still have a bunch of new quests I can do and can probably still get a whole suit resized if I had to. I can see where some people might be having trouble not being able to get enough glory from quests because of alignment issues and then cannot make up for the lack of magical armor with spells because of class.

I guess the point I'm trying to make is that playing a little person isn't really that easy to begin with. That's why you don't see as many gnomes and halflings running around as humans. The rarer the race/class expect it to be harder to play. I don't know the exact number of quests or maximum glory one can get, especially per class and alignment, but I know there are a ton of quests out there. I know some people with 220+ glory and counting. And since resizing and renaming are the only things you can waist glory on now, the system as it stands seems pretty reasonable to me.

Also in the past I have been part of a random, free resizing event. I think this would be nice to bring back occasionally. This is just my two cents though, I'm always down for whatever changes.

I should clarify that most of us are renaming along with resizes, and so it's 30 instead of 20. Most good aligned characters can resize a full suit of magical armor, weapons, and trinkets, if they don't want to rename it.

Maybe glory costs should be reduced all around. 5 for a rename and 10 for a resize. I checked one of my older, longer played characters a while back and noticed that even though they had done the majority of the quests available, his total accumulated glory was 90.

Having been playing for about a month, Think I'll add the perspective of a new player. I've read thru all the posts and think there is a lot of great ideas...I think that the idea of having an item recieved from a quest sized for your character 100% of the time, would help a lot. But to me it seems more should be done. I have wasted a lot of my wealth thus far on items that I have bought HOPING to be masterwork, with the intention of resizing. Well I have three of those minor magic items in my bags now, debating whether it is worth the glory to resize these minor magical items. Also I have only completed one quest to ever give me a magical item that was sized properly, I'm thankful it was a bastard-sword tho :D . For what its worth I find it very restricting and whenever I have done forgotten realms d&d (pen and paper) many of the magical items we used sized to the owner upon he/she wearing it, and for the next owners as well, BUT there could be a natural size of the armor that it reverts to when not worn to avoid abusing with merchants. Have read this in a few books too. Maybe it would be good to keep the glory sizing for weapons, logically I would think magic gear worn around someones body, limbs feet etc... would be able to adjust its size, otherwise every magic item must in "reality" be tailored for a very specific individual.

P.S. no complaints i love the game, in a sense it makes it realistic for us small ones.

I'm not sure if you meant masterwork in the sense of item quality or the power of the enchantments, but you can use 'examine <item> <merchant>' to see the quality of the item. To make it easier try 'list <keyword>' to shorten the list down and then pick a unique keyword out of that list and add it to your original keyword to target that specific item. Ex. 'examine 'runes bastard sword' <merchant>'.

I feel your pain though, I've lost at least 2,000pp doing guess-and-buys on magical trinkets and consumables. These merchants are serious business. :D

Other than that, all I can say is be very conservative with the glory early on unless you are dead sure you have a winner. I've already spent 20 glory on renames that I will probably end up replacing with better items.

Yeah I just wanted masterwork quality for the increased max dex bonus. ended up be magical, but im holding off on my glory for now yeah.

wish there was some way the merchant could tell you its magic when you examine it, in a say or something like "Hey there fella, that sword you be looking is magical."

"masterwork quality" is the closest i can get to magical w/o having to spend glory. Been trying to avoid the magical items at the vendor with no way of the examine command being able tell if something is magic or not. This is probably something only a small character would have to do...avoid buying a better item for the same price...to buy an inferior one thats resizable, yet better then standard quality for me still because I have high dex.

This might a nice addition to sense motive whenever it comes into play. You could always hire a wizard... *greedy grin*
