Locate object only finding items in Storerooms

Locate object only finding items in Storerooms

This might be hard to test on the tport because ost storerooms are on the mainport, but basically now whenever you search for something through the locate object spell you only see the items in people's storerooms. It is very rare if not at all that you will see items on mobiles or merchants unless it is a very specific object. Even then, the spell will only target objects in storerooms first. It used to target mobiles first.
Justice is not neccesarily honourable, it is a tolerable business, in essence you tolerate honour until it impedes justice, then you do what is right.

Spelling is not necessarily correct :)

I've seen this too, although I didn't notice it as a bug at first.
The majority of the items listed were in storerooms, with oneat the end that was held by an NPC. I expect that if there had been more of the said items in storerooms, I wouldn't have seen the NPC-held item.

A solution for this without creating noastral flags for the storerooms would be to reverse the list in searches, since the list always shows storerooms first. Back in 2004 the lists for shop items was flipped around to show the latest acquisition first as opposed to the oldest items in the shop for sale being first. I'd recommend reversing this for this spell to make it more useful.

If there were some way to add some code to storerooms so that all objects inside of them were considered buried it would solve the problem, buried objects don't show up on locate object

This is confirmed and entered into bugzilla. Another way to fix this would be to invert the list that shows up so players with the item are shown first, then mobs, then rooms.
