Mystra's Star Search
The church of Mystra is sponsoring a competition for the people of the realms. We are looking for people to submit creative works to honor the Lady of Mysteries. There will be three categories in which we are accepting submissions: 1. Poetry, Songs and Hymns 2. Short Stories, 3. Paintings and drawings. The works should have a Mystran theme. Things to write or paint about could include Mystran history, tales of wizards, things about various spells, the dangers of abusing the gift, the possibilities magic can
bring, and the mysteries of it. The possibilities are endless.
Rules:
1. The competition is open to anyone that is not seen as an enemy in the eyes of our lady, and all those people who may enter the city of Waterdeep lawfully.
2. Works submitted must be your own. If you are an enemy of the faith or cannot enter the city lawfully, you may not submit a work through another person. Later if you are chosen as one of the finalists and either cannot make it to the celebration or do not wish to perform in front of a crowd then you may select someone to do so in your place.
3. Each person is allowed to submit one work to each category.
4. Works should have a Mystran theme.
5. Works must be submitted on time to be considered.
6. Obviously any work written in bad taste, or against the faith will be immediately rejected.
All works must be submitted by (OOC: Nov. 30 2009). Judges will then select the top two works from each category. Then after a month's time, the church of Mystra will hold a large celebration where the finalists will show their pieces. The crowd gathered will choose the winner for each category. And the winner for each category will be awarded with a prize of one hundred platinum coins.
(OOC: the celebration, performances and awarding of prizes is scheduled for this day.)
All works should be given in person to Gesine Keppur or sent to her through the magical post. Please, no matter what you consider your creative skill level to be, do not be afraid to submit a work to us. Even if a work isn't chosen as a finalist or doesn't win the competition, we still may use all of the works in some way. So by submitting a work, you are giving us permission to use it both at the competition, and any further uses. There is no entrance fee, all you have to do to enter is get your submissions in before the due date.
This will also be a good opportunity to anyone interested in the faith to come learn and meet the faithful. So please, come join us for a day to honor and celebrate the Lady of Mysteries. The stars will shine.
