Been trying to mend some items ive made. Hide specifically:

It is in very bad condition.
It is hide and is medium armor.
It is just the right size for you to wear.
It can be picked up, worn on the head.
It is worn as armour.
It is medium in size.
It is made of unknown and weighs about 2 pounds.

mending it with skin

This is the skin of an animal that has not been treated
except to remove it from the body of its previous owner.
It can be picked up, held.
It cannot be worn with any other armour.
It is medium in size.
It is made of unknown and weighs about 3 pounds.


The above results in 'You cannot mend that weapon type.'
When i use tanned skin, or the hide sold by vendors:

It can be picked up, worn on the body.
It cannot be worn with any other armour.
It is medium in size.
It is made of leather and weighs about 3 pounds.

I get the echo ' You cannot mend a hide helm of a multi-coloured snake with hide of a deer.'

The only thing i see is that skins/hide armor made by PC's is made of type_unknown.

Boot not made by PC:

Confirmed and bugzilla'd.

Bug 891. Likely related to 849 and this post:

Problem may lie in the material to which the sliced skin is set.
