Glory

I have been giving some thought to it, about what could be reasonable to expect from the glory system and what could be not.
Since not all races/classes combinations have the same chance to earn glory points I think it would be unfair being able to create equipment or enhance existent equipment (the gap in quest items it's already there, there is no need to make it bigger nor that it make senses create items out of nothingness, with supplicate items the only exception), also I think that you shouldn't be able to obtain extra stat points or feats, part of the D&D experience is making choices and having other characters covering your weak spots as you do the same about theirs, collaboration, some might disagree.
Personally I think that the only fair that could be put those points into would be as sort of "practice points", in essence you could use those points to increase the level of those "skills" you already know (weapon skills/trades/skills/spells) and never above of any possible limit you had.
It would give you something to put your points into and by earning something that you could get (with time and patience), so you don't get an outrageous advantage over any other pc's, also you are saving time, that hopefully you would use it in much more gratifying tasks. Any thoughts?

Ahh, glory. The "what now?" black sheep of our score sheet. I completely agree with the stat points. I have characters created on both sides of the glory-stat removal and the imbalance is noticable. Glad it is gone, though I would use it again in a heartbeat.
Whatever we do with it, I would really like it to be a system we do not have to involve imms to do it. I liked renaming items with glory, but lets face it... I would rather see imms spending their limited time on something that does more for the game than changing the name of my favorite bag. (Main reason I am never bothered by long application times, I can wait.
)
Skill points bonuses sounds interesting. We'll all max out our desired skills/languages/trades eventually, so it is more a time saver than anything. There is the issue of certain races that have less options to gain glory. Still, a little longer on skills is a bit easier to swallow compared to missing out on 5 extra stat points through glory exchange. Plus, a glory-skill system would not require imm involvement, merely a command similar to train.
Any glory-skill system would require a fair amount of glory per skill point. The image of someone going from inept to GM through glory scares me, though unlikely. The skill point gain should be a difficult decision, not something on a whim.
Anyways, a decent idea. I would love to see glory return in some form.

Actually what I had on mind was a system in which all uses of glory were equally useful, the higher your skill, the more glory points you would need to increase it, perhaps at inept level a single point could give you a single rank raise or more (no category) wheras at master point you would need several of them to earn a single point, something that would make system equally interesting at all levels rather than hoarding your glory points to spend it when you have high ranks in a particular skill(s)/spell(s)/trade(s), this way also the effect is much less dramatic, but equally useful.

So this is sorta where I came to when I wanted to post an idea about glory. Is there any possible way we could buy an extra feat point with glory? I was also thinking about acquiring relic items of some sort with glory, I think it would be great to do "something" with glory. Just random thoughts running through my mind after a days of work.

Glory points are just a score trophy. They deserve a quote from Drew Carey:
Drew Carey wrote:Welcome to 'Whose Line Is It Anyway?', the show where everything's made up and the points don't matter. That's right, the points are just like when I say 'I love you' when I'm drunk.
Well said, Mr. Carey.

Not strictly true
Glory can be used to rename/restring/resize so that is something

True dat, brotha. Still, there's an applications process and it requires the attention of an Imm to perform. Not saying it's a bad thing, but I just don't like that I have to bother someone about it.

I don't think they mind doing it as long as you put the effort into explaining why you want to do a unique rename and are willing to wait while they discuss it to see if it is appropriate. As it goes for simpler renames like colour scheme changes I've observed that there are in character oppertunities during rp's to change such by using glory too.

As Gwain said, there are more opportunities now as SC members have access to the new restring command.

Help rename was rewritten not long ago

You mean 'help restring' Eltsac
It isn't currently possible to resize an item using the Story Council restring command, unless Mask has implemented something new! This particular command is mostly for changing adjectives used e.g. black, red, and the corresponding colour codes found on the object.

No, "Item Rename" was edited and "Restring" was added. You are both right.
The Story Council ability to restring items is designed to encourage the evolution of an item through role-play. Perhaps you approached a well-known smith and he was able to change the color of your piece of armor by applying a coat of lacquer. This gives you something more personalized and it gives the other PC a little more utility for their role. It is less capable than a traditional rename in some ways (and, no, you cannot yet change the size by this method), but it also comes a cheaper cost and perhaps adds a greater (sentimental) value to the item. You could, over time, continue to enhance that piece of armor and it will evolve with your character's role-play. That's just one example.
