unwearable gorgt, adamentite gorget

Upon recieving this item I attempted to wear it and I found a funny echo that told me I wore it, even removed my current necklace. Then I check in my inventory and it says it is still in my inventory. Here is a log of the echo I recieved from it.

You stop using an amulet of communication.
You stop using an adamantine gorget studded with ruby spiders.
.Something within the gorget seems to sap your courage
.as you attempt to close the needles on your neck.
You place an adamantine gorget studded with ruby spiders loosely around your neck.
You are carrying:
an amulet of communication (perfect)
a shimmering sapphire silk money purse (perfect)
a travellers pack (perfect)
an adamantine gorget studded with ruby spiders (perfect)

Hi

The above item is supposed to work as an amulet of communication.
It only accepts incoming Tells.
It was replaced by Raona and worked for a while but since restarts it no longer works with outbound communication again.

Loaded some test samples on testport and will look into this further. Found error in object code, but unsure of the fix. Reported to builders as a new thread.

Decided this item should not act as a comm device, even though builder indicates that was his intent. There's no code support for making it so.

Does the seller advertise it as a communications device?

Sorry, I looked back up in my old building stuff and I have the item's original code which I'll display below. It's not supposed to be an amulet and it's definitely not something that is sold, rather it's a quest reward for completing a task for an explicitly evil drow-themed fighter's guild in Skullport. Sorry that the message itself was unclear but when it 'saps your courage' as you put it on, you aren't actually able to put it on.

Also I'd like to say please don't just make this an amulet of communication or some mundane item, it's a quest reward for a fairly difficult quest and one of the few available to Drow, I don't know what the problem was with the item originally because it had always worked previously, it's not a particularly complex piece of code or anything

As Solaghar rightly says, it's not and never was an amulet of communication. There've been a few similar cases of confusion where people have assumed that other items were amulets of communication, and it's highly possible that there was once a bug that caused this to be the case. Whatever the case, it's fixed now!

The prog on the gorget was largely fine. For whatever reason it ended with an 'endif', despite not having an initial 'if' statement to end - and although it worked, it caused a bug report to that effect. All is well now though!

Confirmed fixed and working now as intended.

I'm game to close this, save that it raises an issue that has just come up elsewhere: This is coded as armour, for the neck location, which is not an armoured location. What to do?

Leave it be?
Change it such that it is not armour?
Have it grant a bonus to the head location AC?
