Faerie Fire does nothing?

When affected by Faerie Fire, I seem to see no difference in my AC.

Hmmm. Faerie fire looks to be coded to apply a negative one penalty to deflection bonus, and you are correct - it does not!
The spell code, specifically this line, does call for it:
Affect 1 of type normal modifies ac deflection by '-1' for 'l*r' rounds
However, canon doesn't seem to call for this effect.
Two separate issues to tease out here, then:
1) Why doesn't the line above do anything? (That's a code team question)
2) Should faerie fire apply a -1 deflection penalty? (Canon has it preventing concealment, only, and it is coded to do that - well, at least it strips invsibility of all flavors. Should it impact mirror image, or any other spells? This is a playerbase question!)
Thanks for reporting this, Selveem.

I think in 2ed it worsened the opponent's AC by 1. That was likely the original intent of the spell.

Well, I don't see a help for it anymore, so I guess that's fine.
Should the help be recreated to just inform that it stops the effect of concealment provided by darkness (aside from level 2+ magical darkness), displacement, invisibility, blur, or any comparable effects?
Also, what happens when one is affected by faerie fire and you attempt to hide, receive invisibility spell, etc? Does that portion at least work?

Just wanted to add that Faerie Fire, in 3rd edition, could affect more than one target, too.

Ok, so this becomes two issues:
Coded deflection penalty effect doesn't seem to work (base hard code issue, broader than this specific case)
Faerie Fire spell code needs update to 3.5E? (Are we going for a solid match to 3.5 whole-hog?)
http://www.d20srd.org/srd/spells/faerieFire.htm
Should not impact AC
Should defeat blur, displacement, concealment effects. (I don't think any of these are currently coded)
If we really want to match 3.5E we should lose Faerie Fog and make this AOE (area of effect)?
