This is a suggestion from an expanded source book for optional additional skills (I don't remember what book I saw it in):
When not in combat (so after your pulse returns to normal), all characters in the room (or in the party and in the room) as the character with soothing words will regain additional hit points at each 'tick' equal to the charisma modifier of the character with soothing words.
This could provide another benefit for training CHA as well as providing another reason to group up. This will also lessen the burden on healers just a tad (it won't serve as a replacement, however).

Re: Soothing Words
so would this be a spell? Not sure how a skill based on charisma would heal wounds?
Re: Soothing Words
It's not a spell. It's an actual skill, albeit it's in a source book for optional skills that not everyone plays by.
And it's not an actual 'heal'. It's only going to add a couple hit points to each tick when you auto regen every couple minutes.

Re: Soothing Words
My idea would be to have this only be a passive skill when grouped, to save from just that class being able to use it solo. Seams having it that way, would make them want to group up more, maybe the more in the group, the more HP/Tick ratio?
It would help with less down time from the healers having to meditate... Or get rid of the skill and have it so that the more in your group, the more HP-MP/Tick you get, start small and have it escalate with the more people... The more people you have in your group, the more motivation you have and the more moral you have.

Re: Soothing Words
Ah yes, I realized I never clarified:
This skill has no effect on the user. It only affects other people in the room/group. So it's 100% group-oriented.

Re: Soothing Words
Maybe I'm mixing games, but didn't Bards have a song or something like that?
