When you wield a weapon with two hands, you are getting 1 1/2 your strength mod to damage as you are supposed to.
However, when you have power attack enabled, you only get the normal amount as if you were wielding a weapon in 1 hand.
Steps to reproduce:
Make sure power attack is off.
Wield a mundane bastard sword in one hand. Your damage should be 1d10 + Strength Mod.
Remove the weapon.
Wield the same bastard sword in both hands. Your damage should be 1d10 + 1 1/2 Strength Mod.
Turn power attack on.
Wield the same mundane bastard sword in one hand. Your damage should be 1d10 + Strength Mod + 3.
Remove the weapon.
(Here comes the deviation)!
Wield the weapon in both hands. Your damage should be 1d10 + 1 1/2 Strength Mod + 6.
Unfortunately, it is still only giving +3.
When wielding a weapon in both hands, you get double the bonus to your damage roll that you take as a penalty to your attack roll. The MUD currently automatically sets this at three, so the bonus when wielding in both hands should be 6.

Re: Power Attack Not Giving Correct Bonuses for 2-Handed Wea
3.5ed states this for power attack:
I confirmed that when I wielded a pick in both hands, I only gained the extra strength modifier and not the additional +3 from power attack.
So, this is confirmed to not be working as per 3.5ed rules, but what is the game's official stance on the policy?
Edit: It may just not be showing up properly on the score sheet. Can someone verify that behind the scenes?
http://www.d20srd.org/srd/feats.htm#powerAttackIf you attack with a two-handed weapon, or with a one-handed weapon wielded in two hands, instead add twice the number subtracted from your attack rolls.

Should now be fixed.
