Someone told me that this had already been reported and fixed, I couldn't find a thread anywhere.
Fireshield gives resistance to cold instead of fire.
Iceshield gives resistance to fire instead of cold.
Fireshield/Iceshield reversed resistances
Re: Fireshield/Iceshield reversed resistances
That makes sense, doesn't it?
If your shield is warm, doesn't it make sense for the cold not to affect you as it normally would?

Re: Fireshield/Iceshield reversed resistances
If it is an intentional change, then I'll just assume that "Iceshield" is the equivalent of the chill shield power of the d20 spell "Fire Shield" and that "Fireshield" is the equivalent of the warm shield.
In which case, the helpfiles need to be changed. So its a bug either way.
Would be cool if the two - iceshield and fireshield - were a combined spell like they are in D&D. Kind of like the dragonskin spell FK has now, but with only two choices in resistance.

Re: Fireshield/Iceshield reversed resistances
Actually, I changed my mind. I'll side with Necalli on this one. Acidshield gives acid resistance. For consistency, I think fireshield should give fire resistance and cold shield should give cold resistance.

Re: Fireshield/Iceshield reversed resistances
Each of these shields surrounds the target with the substance in question. For consistency with Acidshield and Shockshield, Fireshield should protect against fire (and burn those who attack you), and Iceshield should protect against cold (and provide a right nasty case of frostbite to those who attack you).
Any arguments to the contrary before I bust my bum trying to figure out how to do that?

Re: Fireshield/Iceshield reversed resistances
It's kind of silly to have three protect against one element and only one versus the other. Honestly, I say just leave it but swap fire and cold's resistances. It's not cannon but it's not like their resistances are anything great anyhow.

Re: Fireshield/Iceshield reversed resistances
Ok, I can't figure out how to do it yet, need someone smarter than me, but the pending action on this is:
Make fireshield grant resistance to fire
Make iceshield grant resistance to cold
Change helpfiles accordingly
