Hi there

As far as I can deduce I believe that magical shields of a certain type (could be others) are not giving the correct bonus to AC.

the shield I have: A silver Shield that shines like a mirror is as far as I remember, magical.

It's attributes are...

It is in perfect condition.

It is heavy metal shield.

It is just the right size for you to wear.

It can be picked up, held.

It cannot be worn with any other armour.

It is medium in size.

according to the players handbook a heavy metal shield gives a bonus of +2 and I have shield specialisation which I am told gives a +1 bonus while holding a shield, this is working fine as tested with a mundane shield however when wielding my magical shield I get....

Shield: +3

nor does the bonus appear in deflection. Could the flags for the bonus be bugged? as by rights it should be +4 all told.

I've noticed a similar thing with the tower shield of rock-hard metal. Its AC bonus for being magical is being applied incorrectly to shield bonus, but instead to deflection.

I found another that gives _0_ AC bonus for being magical (this one doesn't even give deflection bonus), as well:

I second this, my shield of Moradin is supposed to be a heavy metal shield +2 and it gives only 2 AC while it should give 4AC

Something definatly not right with shield AC enhancement bonus.

This should be fixed now or in the near future. It was a nuance of how armor code has changed, but Mask repaired it.

I can verify this; it was corrected at least for the shields I know were problematic.

It is supposed to give +2 for being a heavy shield and +2 for its enchant

I can confirm then that Thorden's shield is also only granting +2 AC and not +4 AC.

A problem specific to this shield has been resolved, though.
