Hello,
Today I have received some "failures" while casting priest spells (playing a a priest), 3 or 4 within an hour.

Some Logs for viewing pleasure:

And another example:

Priests, as I understand it, are not supposed to fail in castings. I was wondering if the concentration checks were renamed to just failed echoes, that that last example was a non combat casting.

I don't know about the first ones, but the reason why your last one failed is because, for some reason, the spell is defaulting to holly before your existing faith symbol. As a Cleric, you cannot use holly in lieu of your holy symbol.

I dont think Holly is the cause.

Holly has always worked for my priestly spells (unless something has changed). Also, that's not the echo you get when armor causes the spell to fail. The normal echo is, "Your armour prevents you from casting succesfully."

That being said, I just got the same echo that Zorinar got when I tried casting Slink. In addition to the mysterious failure, my attempted casting destroyed one of my Mirror Images.

You begin to sing.
You are surrounded by mirror images of yourself.
You begin to sing.
Some fur glows briefly and a whisp of smoke rises from it.
Your attack destroys an image of ***.
You failed.
You get a blank look on your face.

I have had the same problem all day today. In all the cases I noticed I have not been in combat. In the example below I was actually in a temple.

cast Hero

<100%hp 98m 100%mv>
You begin to chant.

<100%hp 98m 100%mv>
A vial of blood glows briefly and a whisp of smoke rises from it.
You failed.

<100%hp 96m 100%mv>

It has happened a number of times with different prayers.

Is anyone still observing this phenomenon? I believe it has been fixed.

I'm experiencing this issue right now on Thorden. I cannot post a log since I cannot copy-paste at the moment.

Essentially, whenever I cast 'revive,' it defaults to 'some holly' but the spell still works. The holly hasn't disappeared yet.

I was told in the past that holly can double for a symbol in components in the event that you lost or did not wear your holy symbol.
