[OOC: Umberlants, please contact me in game or by PM if you'd like to help out]People of Waterdeep, sailors, merchants, and all you who profit by the sea, know that the winter ice has shown signs of melting. To mark the reopening of the city harbor and ensure a safe and prosperous year of sailing, we of the Queenspire will soon perform the ceremony of First Tide, flinging an animal into the waters as a sacrifice to Umberlee.
A suitable sacrificial beast is required. Let it be known that any who bring a captive animal to the Queenspire at the hours given below will be fairly paid. Large, fierce beasts, such as bears and griffons, are most suitable to be sacrificed to our fierce Queen. The animal may be incapacitated or stunned, but dead beasts are unacceptable.
Your exact compensation will be negotiated upon delivery. Clerics will be present at the Queenspire at the following times.

Re: First Tide
The second half of each sign is covered with another which says:
OOC: Tentatively, I'd like to hold this at this time. If that doesn't work for you and you're particularly interested in attending, let me know.Let it be known that we have obtained a fitting beast, a most magnificent black panther. We have read the wind and waves, and determined that the ice will break in fifteen days, at which time we invite all who wish to pay their respects to Umberlee to gather at the Queenspire. From there we shall lead the animal to the shore, where he will be cast into the ocean, to live or die as the waves see fit.
The sacrifice will be followed by a feast to celebrate the beginning of another year of prosperous sea-borne trade.

Re: First Tide
Reminder: this is happening tomorrow, starting at this time.
An additional note has been tacked onto the signs:
An additional note has been tacked onto the signs:
The Queenspire has received reports of certain adventuring elements in Waterdeep attempting to interfere with the conduction of this ceremony. Citizens should remember that Waterdeep's prosperity is due in no small part to the safe operation of its port, and that the sacrifice must therefore proceed unmolested.
