Improved Critical

Hi

I have noticed that the critical multiplier on the score sheet shows critical 19/20 *2. I have improved critical feat, does this reflect that?

Well spotted! It currently does not, and when I went digging to find out why, I found a number of things about the critical hit system were broken! Changes will happen around criticals and as part of those changes, the score sheet will be correct based on feats and weapon type!

I noticed that the Improved critical feat has been removed as per the hard code changes thread.

Have all trainers of Improved Critical been given weapon types?
Kiinadul Rylafyrn cannot train any weapon types yet can train improved critical.

I havent found anywhere in Menzo, Ched Nasad or SKullport that can train improved critical on double edged blades. Is this an oversight, have I not found the right person or is it intentional?

That trainer can train weapon types that are perhaps not available to your PC.

The changes to improved critical will precipitate more options to train it, but please be patient.

Just on this one, I have explored Menzo, Skullport and Ched Nasad and am unable to find a trainer to train Improved Initiative for Double-Edged blades anywhere.

Do they exist in the underdark and if not, can one be added please?

Improved Initiative is not a weapon-specific feat. If we're talking about Improved Critical, there is a trainer in the Underdark.

Sorry, yes, I meant Improved Critical not initiative.

Not fishing for IC info but at least one other player has searched everywhere and cannot locate it....I presume it is accesible to all underdark folk and not guild or group specific in anyway? Can find pretty much every other weapon just not Double-Edged blades

I would like to throw my hand into this convo. As a drow who uses double-edge blades I have search high and low for the improve critical feat for double-edge blades with no luck.

When I speak to everyone ICly about it they say, oh ya its this trainer, and when I have them take me to that trainer they themselves can not find it.

I have also talked to some who say it's in certain areas but when going and searching those areas there is nothing. (Such as the academy in Skullport)

This leads me to think that at some point the feat was in the Underdark but has for some reason been removed?

As a drow who does not travel to the surface often we are limited to who we can ask ICly for information and as far as I can tell.. besides players who do not log their older drow anymore.. I have talked to everyone possible regarding this.

Unless the trainer is a wandering mob who I haven't run into yet or is placed in a VERY secret location it just doesn't seem like the improve critical - double-edge blades is available in the Underdark.

It definitely used to be, in a certain city composed by the illustrious Solaghar. Unfortunately, I cannot recall if that was before or after it was made weapon-specific. If it was after, it's somewhere that makes sense. Might have just accidentally skipped over the trainer mob.

I have double checked, Xyron is on the money. It seems most are skipping over this innocuous trainer, but it's there.
