Dragon Slaying

Post by Grenwyn » Wed Sep 21, 2011 1:52 am

Wanted: Experienced adventurers

Looking for strong warriors, battle-tested healers, and maybe a couple powerful wizards.

Planning to assault the Red Dragon above the Keep. This is Very Dangerous. Do not come if you fear death. Party will contain a minimum of eight. The more the merrier.

Contact Saph Grimshaw if you're interested.
Can we can get enough high-level characters in on this to pull it off? What times would work best for you?

I'm available most evenings after 9 EST, or after 10 EST on Wednesday and Friday. I will usually be available Saturdays as well.

Any day after 9pm CST, and a few other sporadic different zones.

Jarris can show up most likely. But with duty and all that every four days I stay on the ship overnight. So give me a date and I can give you more information.

My life revolves around my online classes, but if you can give a more exact time frame I could get Gilain out of the temple for a dragon dance or two.

That's really late for me. I mean, code-wise I could do it either day, but then I would not be able to partake in much RP at all (or be party to an RP event).

I work a great distance from my house (or, rather, not that far but due to traffic..), so weekdays for me end early. I start winding down at 10pm. I don't get home until around 7pm on work days. Sunday at the same time would be bad for me, too, as I work the next day.

If you can get a big enough party without me, my feelings won't be hurt if I'm excluded from the event.

What does it mean to participate code-wise but not RP?

Just what I said: It is possible to kill the Dragon before my need for bed code-wise, but inappropriate as it wouldn't leave enough time for RP. Is this constructive to the thread?

Asking people to clarify cryptic statements is usually fairly constructive. Be nice.

You're right, my apologies. I neglected to 'assume goodwill.' I'm at fault. Sorry Lathander.

On a lighter note, that time works for me :) Glad to be there and happy to help if possible.

Thanks!

If this RP can finish within an hour of this time, I will be able to participate. But 6 hours after this time I have to be awake and getting ready for work

Our game mission is to promote rp and fun adventure. One of Selveem's comments caught my eye because we frown on the simple lending of a PC's stats/skills without rp participation.
code-wise I could do it ... but then I would not be able to partake in much RP at all
I posed my question to give Selveem the opportunity to explain the comment. It is relative to this event because we want to encourage this kind of adventurous grouping, but with the idea that RP is an integral part. Selveem's comments shed some doubt on that and I was asking for clarification.

Apology accepted

Hi guys! Something came up and I might be a couple minutes late. I should still be able to be there and I'll try to make it on time, but this is an FYI, just in case I'm not there right on the dot. ;)

Although only a couple people showed up to the initial summons (shame on ye all!), Trathas helped put together enough people to pull off the raid and successfully slay the dragon. Thanks to all who participated - let's do that again some time. =)
