I accidentally used two forms of flight today:
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Spells and other magical affects
Affected: Fly for a very short time
Affected: Wind walk for a short time
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Fly wore off first:
You slowly float to the ground.
This made me land (obviously) but then I realized I still had the second one on still, so I tried to fly:
You cannot move at that speed.
Your speed set to walk.
You cannot fly.
You are not airborne.
You cannot fly.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Spells and other magical affects
Affected: Wind walk for a very short time
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
So I kind of figured, only the translucent half of wind walk had probably kicked in, since fly was first. But then:
Your feet float slowly to the surface.
It still stands to reason only half of wind walk kicked in because of fly, as that's just the general wind walk wearing off echo. But just in case, I figured I'd post it up!

Re: Double flight spells all the waaay:
Quite right, that looks to be how it works. If you cast a fly spell with one already in effect, the fly aspect of new spell is negated. If it is the only aspect of the spell cast, you get "You resist the effects of your spell." (e.g., Ethereal Flyer cast on top of Fly) If the flight spell has another aspect, as for example Wind Walk has passdoor, the spell succeeds, but only adds the new effect. The previous flight spell remains in effect, duration unmodified, and when it wears out you can no longer fly.
Wind Walk has only one wearoff echo, though, and you see it even if it isn't granting you flight.
Wind Walk's wearoff echo can be easily changed, if someone has a better suggestion?
Should a flight spell stack or replace the duration of one already in effect? I've a feeling that is not presently the case for a reason...

Re: Double flight spells all the waaay:
Well, Wind Walk is a bit different than Fly, so it's a bit more complicated to say...
But, the duration should be refreshed in most cases. If Wind Walk has a shorter duration than existing Fly spell, the Fly spell would remain the active one.
Wind Walk currently gives fly on FK to simplify its properties (and, if I'm not mistaken, the duration is very off on FK - should last 1 hour per caster level if I remember correctly).
