Puppet-themed Party

Post by Enig » Sun Jan 29, 2012 9:58 am

Good news, everyone!

There's going to be a puppet-themed party in Waterdeep, held in the ballroom of the temple of beauty at this time:
http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/f ... T19&p1=250

All party-goers should dress for a semi-formal event; it's not necessary to wear full suits and ball gowns but you shouldn't show up in spiky mud-stained armour, so use some discretion.

There are two main attractions to the event, most easily laid out as such:

1) At the very end of the party we'll be running a secret puppet exchange. Throughout the party supplies will be made available, and blank puppets, and each guest will be able to make one puppet for the exchange. At the end of the party we'll place the puppets into unmarked bags and everyone will pick one randomly (picking again if they accidentally got their own).

2) During the middle of the party we'll be running a puppet show competition, participation is completely optional and those who do will be allowed to either go solo or in teams of a maximum of three people. Solo contestants will be allowed to borrow puppets from other people or create additional puppets to fill needed roles.

At the end a small panel of judges will decide the winners who will be showered with fabulous prizes!

We're looking forward to seeing as many of you there as can attend! Thanks very much!

Just an additional note, to clarify the events for which prizes are being awarded.

There are six prizes being given away in total:

Two prizes will be given to the winning puppeteer, or puppeteering duo, in the puppet show contest

One prize will be given for the runner-up in the puppet show contest

One prize will be given for the puppet which best evokes the theme of love, as voted by the guests

One prize will be given for the puppet voted best in quality by the guests

One prize will be given for the puppet voted 'best effort' by the guests
(This one's a bit OOC - we're looking for the best restring, regardless of whether or not the finished product is raggedy or poorly-made IC)

Looking forward to seeing lots of folks there!

Just wanted to give out a big thank you to our special helpers and to everyone whom participated in this little event! I had a wonderful time and we hope everyone enjoyed it just as much as we did. =)

It was a great event, restringing puppets for the enjoyment of others is satisfying and only adds to the joy of the game. Thank you.

I also wanted to thank the people who made this event possible. I had a great time (and collapsed into deep sleep as soon as I touched my bed^^)
