Identify Scrolls and cleric's understanding

Post by Raona » Thu Apr 12, 2012 11:23 am

Added a clarifying note to the helpfile for recite: Spellcasters can only recite scrolls with spells upon them that they will eventually have access to as a non-domain spell.

I hope that's right, and clear?

But I have some confusion about Bards. Testing, I always get "This scroll is too complex for you to understand." when my test bard tries to recite a wizard spell. I tried boosting INT, no dice. Gave him the Use Magic Device skill, same result. Anyone know what this denotes, or have experience reciting on a bard?

Last I knew, Mask was working on implementing this for thieves after a bit of checking from me, which I think means he's probably working on it for bards too. At present, thieves aren't able to use scrolls with the new system.

Aha! That'll do it. Thanks Lirith, I'll follow up on this again later.
